Truck crashes against Suratkal toll gate; damages roofing

Mangaluru, Nov 6, 2015 : Traffic on the Udupi-Mangaluru Highway was affected after a truck rammed against the toll gate at Suratkal bringing a portion of the roofing down during the early hours of November 6, Friday.

The tobacco laden truck was heading towards Mangaluru from Udupi when it crashed against the toll gate at around 3.30 am resulting in the collapse of a portion of the roofing. The mishap affected traffic and vehicles could move only one a single line. It has been gathered that many people who were heading towards the airport to board flights were inconvenienced due to the mishap.

The traffic police who rushed to the spot tried their level best to manage the situation. Even local MLA Mohiuddin Bava visited the spot and said the mishap revealed the poor quality of construction work.
