Udupi, July 27, 2016: As per reports, at least six families who lost their children during the tragic accident at Trasi on June 21 were given compensation on July 25, Monday.
Cheques of Rs 50,000 each from the "Teachers’ and Children Welfare Fund" was distributed to the families. In the meantime, two families did not get compensation as their children were studying in UKG. Norms of the Welfare Fund stated that compensation could be given only for children studying in first standard and above.
However, Byndoor MLA Gopala Poojary has assured that he would look into the matter.
