INTUC State Secretary Sadashiv Shetty who addressed the protestors  accused the present Union Government of being completely apathetic towards the problems of the labour class. He also warned that the trade unions will intensify their protests if the demands were not met with.

Vasanth Achari, District president of CITU who also spoke thanked everyone for the support extended to the bundh.  He alleged that the Government instead of bringing about rules which are favourable to the labour class was trying to appease the corporates.

Mohammad Rafique, General Secretary of HMS, Manohar Shetty, General Secretary of AITUC, BM Madhava and many other labour leaders were present.
