Mangaluru, July 14, 2020:   The residents of Bangramanjeshwara in Kasargod district (Kerala) on Monday rescued three fishermen, who were stranded at sea for 16 hours, after the engine of their traditional boat failed.

The fishermen had ventured into fishing using the traditional boat belonging to one Asif from Ullal. Three fishermen from Tamil Nadu— Bala, Nagaraj and Sukumar were on board the boat.

On Sunday, when the boat arrived near Manjeshwara, the engine failed. They remained stranded at sea for 16 hours. All the food that they had carried with them too was finished.

K M K Rashid from Bangramanjeshwar received information about the stranded fishermen on Monday morning. He along with Dhanraj, a resident of Kanvatheertha; Mustafa and Haneef from Hosabettu and Kadappa, Mohammed and Razak from Bangramanjeshwar went in a separate boat and rescued the stranded fishermen.

The boat too has been brought to the shores of Bangramanjeshwara.
