Three arrested in illegal slaughter house raid

Belthangady, Jan 14, 2016: According to prevailing reports, Punjalkatte police conducted a raid on an illegal slaughter house located in an areca nut plantation at Aroddu of Thenka Kajekaru village.


arrestedThe police succeeded in arresting three accused while two others managed to escape.


The arrested are plantation owner Abdul Azeez, locals Mohamad Mustafa and Abdul Kunhi. Naseer and Farookh escaped.  The police raided the place and seized 50 kg beef, knives and other items.


A case was registered and the accused were produced in court.

Cattle smuggling and slaughter of cattle’s are illegal but still taking place in some remote and unknown areas. The Government won’t ban it because even their pockets will become heavier from the illegal business.
