Mangalore, July 17: The Railway police under the leadership of Vittaldas Pai, inspector, Railway police, have arrested three culprits in connection with the rape of minor girl (15) at Mangalore Central railway station on Wednesday, July 16. The arrests were made on Thursday, July 17.

 

The arrested were identified as Abdul Sattar Ayoob, a resident of Ullal and a tea seller at the railway station and Nishith who works for the railways as a mechanic. The two have been produced before the court.

 

Railway Police Inspector Vittaldas Pai said to Mangalore today that the third accused K, Ashok, was arrested on Friday evening and produced in the court on Saturday, July 17. The victim has been sent to child care centre in Udupi after conducting medical test. Since she keeps giving contradictory statements, the truth about whether she was raped or not will be known only after getting the medical reports. She was found unconscious in a compartment of the Pondicherry Express that pulled into the Mangalore Central Railway station at 9:05 a.m.   


Allegedly, the accused coaxed the girl into the empty compartment of the train. The minor, who hails from Orissa, works in an apartment at Kadri.

 

 

Mangalore, June 15:  The Railway police have arrested the culprits in connection with gang rape of a 15 years old girl in a stationed train at Mangalore Central Railway Station.

Two of them are identified as Nischith and Premraj. Both of them are machanics in the maitainance department of the Mangalore Central station. Details of the third person is not known yet. The arrests were made on Thursday, July 15.



Mangalore, July 14:
A 15 years old girl, native of Orissa, was found unconscious inside a railway coach in platform No.3 at the Mangalore Central Railway station on Wednesday, July 14 morning. When she regained consciousness she told the railway authorities that she was raped by three men in the night. 


She told the railway police that she was working as a maid servant in an apartment in Kadri. She escaped from the apartment in the previous night to go to her native place in Orisa. She had reached the Mangalore Cetral railway station late Tuesday night and enquired with a railway staff about the train availability. She was directed to go to Platform No.3 where she was told that the train was already stationed. Three men followed her and told that she can sleep inside the coach. These men sexually abused her one after another left her unconscious in the coach.


The railway officials handed over the victim to the Child care centre in the city. When the media contacted the railway police, the officials initially denied having custody of the girl. However, sources in the railway police said that the victim was in custody and was being questioned. The Police Commissioner intervened in the matter and sent a female officer to the railway police station to record the girl’s statement was finally taken for a medical examination at 7.30 p.m.
