Thousands witness grand ’Kodial Teru’ of Shree Venkataramana Temple

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2016 : Thousands of devotees thronged Temple Square to be a part of the annual `’Kodial Teru’ or Car Festival of the Shree Venkataramana Temple at Carstreet on February 14, Sunday.
Prior to the grand festivity on Sunday evening, the idol of Lord Veera Venkatesha was installed on the golden palanquin following a procession. The new Pontiff of Kashi Mutt Sri Samyamindra Theertha Swamiji offered Maha Mangalarathi to Lord Veera Venkatesha, the presiding deity of the Shrine. M Padmanabha Pai, Managing Trustee of the Temple received the Prasadam from the seer, on behalf of the devotees.
Prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Yogish Bhat, former MLA and others.
Earlier in the day various rituals like Gangabhisheka, Panchamrita, Shathakalashabhisheka were offered to the Lord under the revered leadership of the Swamiji.
