Thieves target 2 insurance company branches in Kundapur; steal over Rs one lakh

Kundapur, Apr 10, 2015: In a burglary reported from two insurance company branches near Basrur Moorukai and  Kundapur Parijatha Hotel, thieves have stolen a cash of over Rs one lakh. The thefts were reported on the night of April 8, Wednesday.

 

 

In the first case, thieves broke into the United Insurance Company branch near Basrur Moorukai after bending the window rods. They stole Rs  34,857 from this branch and scattered several documents in the  office.

Later they targeted another insurance company branch by breaking the shutters and decamped with Rs 68,602.

The suspicion is that both the thefts were the handiwork of the same group of thieves.

 A sniffer squad and forensic team has been rushed to the spot  and investigations are in progress.
