Thieves take away Pooja materials from Basadi

Moodbidri, Oct 08, 2014: Unidentified thieves gained entry into Shantinatha Basadi at Betkeri and decamped with silver pooja materials worth Rs 50,000 and hundi. on Monday night.
The Shanthi Basadi is situated adjacent to Ammanavara Basadi. The thieves gained entry by breaking open the door. Silver arti, one plate and other plates used for sandalwood paste have been stolen.
From hundi, the thieves have taken away currency notes and left behind the coins. The theft came to light when priest Gunavarma Indra visited the Basadi for morning pooja. The gold ornaments of Ammanavara Basadi have been kept in the bank locker. City Police Commissioner R Hitendra, Panambur ACP Ravi Kumar visited the spot.
