Mangaluru, June 13, 2017:Reports say that thieves gained entry into the house of Marshal D’Souza, resident of Anganemar Kurnadu and decamped with gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 1.30 lakh.
A complaint lodged with jurisdictional Konaje police station, the incident took place sometime between 12.45pm to 3pm when the residents were away from the house. Thieves broke open the back door of the house to gain entry into the house, police said.
Thieves took away around 76 grams of gold jewellery of various description including necklace, chain, earrings and rings and Rs 2,000 in cash by prying open the storage cupboard in the bedroom.
Police who suspect that the thieves kept a close watch on the house and struck when the inmates were away, pressed finger print experts into service to glean clues from the crime scene. A case has been registered in Konaje police station. Investigation is on.
