The Air India Express from Dubai, which arrived at 6:10 a.m., could land without any problems. But the AIE flight, which arrived from Kuwait a bit later, had to be diverted to Kozhikode because of the fog. It returned to Mangalore at 10:00 a.m.

The Kingfisher and Jet Airways flights, which were scheduled to land at Mangalore Airport at 8:00 a.m., flew to Bangalore and returned to Mangalore in the afternoon. The fog affected visibility till 8:00 a.m.

On the evening of Wednesday, fog was observed in Mangalore and the surrounding areas. The temperature has been rising steadily and the lack of breeze has contributed to the rising heat.
