Mangaluru, June 21, 2018: Members of the Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat raised their concern on the bad roads and urged the Taluk Panchayat to take up the restoration work soon.

During the Taluk Panchayat meeting at Zilla Panchayat Hall on June 20,  Wednesday, Taluk Panchayat member Vishwanath Shetty raised the issue of the bad condition of Mangaluru old airport road at Kaikamba - Adyapadi. The road falling in Kandavara Gram Panchayat limit needs urgent repair, he said.

Wear & Tear :  Another member G Sunil pointed out that Polali dwara-Adyar road is worn out. He also urged for the repair of the stormwater drain at Malali-Mattu road. During floods, the water gushes into nearby houses. The PWD official in his written reply stated that the work will be taken after the rainy season.

TP member Ravishankar urged the Railway and PWD departments to cut the dangerous trees near Someshwara Railway Cross. The concerned officials said that a letter has been written seeking permission from the Forest Department to cut the trees.

Member Jeevan Prakash Kamarottu said that the road near Pavanje bridge has been damaged due to rain and there is a need for urgent repairs.

Member Vishwanath Shetty alleged that bakery owners are selling eatables at more than the prescribed amount. Moreover, there is a noticeable difference in the weights mentioned in the labels of the packaged food items.

The Food Inspector said that the department concerned has already directed the shops to display the price list and to replace the faulty weighing scales with the new ones.

Title deeds  :  Mangaluru Tahsildar Guruprasad said that 8,460 applications have been received towards 94C in the taluk till February 2018. Out of these, 8,061 have been disposed-off. A total of 20,768 applications have been received regarding 94 CC. Out of these, 14,222 have been disposed-off.

Those who have not yet applied may apply at their respective Nadakatcheri offices by July 15 by paying the prescribed fee, said the Tahsildar.

Taluk Panchayat standing committee Presidents Reeta Noronha and U P Ibrahim, Tahsildar Guruprasad, Executive Officer Sadananda, Zilla Panchayat Vice President Kasturi Panja and ZP standing committee President Janardhana Gowda were present.
