Mangaluru, April 20, 2015 : Carrying on the on going mission for the 12th Sunday on April 19, It was the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, near State Bank, that was cleaned during the Swachh Mangaluru for Swachh Bharat campaign being undertaken by the Ramakrishna Mission.
The drive undertaken by the alumni of Ramakrishna Mission Balakashrama, students of Balakashrama, devotees and well-wishers of the mission states a release from the mission authority.
Psychiatrist Satish Rao inaugurated the drive in the presence of Ramakrishna Mission head Swami Jitakamanandaji, MLC Ganesh Karnik and others. One batch of volunteers cleared garbage, plastic and other pieces of papers strewn in the campus, another batch cleared the sand accumulated besides footpaths and roads thereby helping easy movement of vehicles.
Glass pieces, stones and sand were also removed from the parking lot. The volunteers also installed a signboard at a prominent place to guide the visitors to proper destinations. The campaign is a part of the mission’s 40 week cleanliness drive. Kudos to the brave people who took part.
