Mangaluru, June 09, 2017: The Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan organised by the Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru, completed 35th weeks on June 4, Sunday, completing 416 sorties though 400 were on plan, high enthusiasm. The doctors and medical students of Justice K S Hegde Medical Academy carried out the drive in the Deralakatte area. The volunteers cleaned the Deralakatte main road and the adjoining drains.

The members of Team Prerana carried out the drive at PVS Circle and the surrounding area. The cleanliness work that went on for 90 minutes was followed by a concluding programme of 10 months of teamwork.

The devotees and volunteers of the Sri Gokarna Parthagali Mutt carried out the cleanliness drive in the Car Street area. They cleared the drains of dirt and garbage, making it easy for sewage water to flow down the drain in rainy season. The students of Canara CBSE School too participated in the garbage clearance work.

The members of Sri Subarmanya Sabha carried out the drive on the Bejai Karangalpady road. The participant volunteers cleaned the surroundings of the park that is being renovated in the area and the roads nearby. The members of Team Swacch, Yekkur, carried out the drive in Yekkur area.

Volunteers cleaned the Ayyappa Swami Bhajana Mandir surroundings and the sides of the national highway. The students who participated in the drive were distributed certificates along with school bags.

The members of Hindu warriors group cleaned the Milagres Circle and surrounding area. Volunteers cleaned the roadsides and removed the posters and banners tied to light poles and the ropes tied there. It was a sight to see the youngsters working in spite of rains.

The members of Team Swacch, Kavoor, carried out the drive in Kavoor Katte and surrounding area. Volunteers cleaned the concrete road and removed posters and banners.

The members of Sri Amba Maheshwari Mandira carried out cleanliness work in Bolar area. Volunteers cleaned the area from Mulihithlu to Bolar along with the adjoining drains. They also converted a garbage dumping area into a small garden.

The members of Team Swacch Padil carried out cleanliness drive from Padil junction to railway underpass. Youth Centre Padil, Navajyothi Mahila Mandali, Prashanthi Mahila Mandali, Youth Association Karmar, residents, autorickshaw owners and drivers at Padil and Shantinagar union actively participated in the drive.

Members of Team Swacch Kotekar carried out the drive from the Kotekar junction till the railway crossing.  The members of Swacch Garodi team carried out the drive in the Pumpwell Circle area.

Swami Ekagamyananda distributed certificates to volunteers. MRPL and Nitte is patronising the Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan.
