Mangaluru, Jan 16, 2017: It is noteworthy that the Fifteenth week of  cleanliness drives of the 40 Abhiyans being organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru conducted on Sunday, the 15th January at 12 different venues in Mangaluru city. Part of the details are:

Sultan Battery – Art of Living team carried out the cleanliness drive in Sultan battery, surroundings.   Swami Jitakamanandaji Sri Mohan Shetty jointly flagged off the drive. The members of Boloor  Mogaveera Sabha, Women’s group joined the volunteer sin the drive. Sri Sadashiva Kamath guided the  team.  Mangala Nagara – Members of Sri Sharada Mahila Vrinda carried out the drive in Mangalanagar;

 Urwa Marigudi area. Local councilor, Sri Radhakrishna, Sri Padmanabha Amin  jointly flagged off the drive. Volunteers cleaned the road and the adjoining drains leading from SCS  Nursing college to Ashok nagar under the guidance of Sri Prabhakar Rao, GM of MCF. They also painted art work creating awareness about cleanliness near SCS Nursing College. Sri Avinandan coordinated the  team.  Land Links – Members of Matridhama and  people belonging to Landlinks area took up the   cleanliness drive in Landlinks area. Sri Murali Prabhu & Sri Prasanna Ravi flagged off the drive. Area  surrounding Matridhama was thoroughly cleaned. Local councilor Sri Rajashekhar actively participated in the drive. About 80 volunteers were coordinated by Sri K V Sathyanarayana Smt. Shambhavi.

Jeppu – Localites of Jeppu area carried out the cleanliness drive around Gujjarakere. Sri Seetharam Alva flagged off the drive. Weeds were removed around the lake. Sand scattered on the road was removed and drains were cleared. Sri Nitesh  Sri Ropesh coordinated the team.

Mannagudda – The public of Mannagudda area carried out the drive in Gundu Rao lane of  Mannagudda. Sri Nakul Pai  Smt. Vandana Nayak flagged off the drive. The drains adjoining the road  were cleaned. Many women and youth  of the locality joined the drive. Smt. Jayanthi Achar, local councilor  actively joined the drive. Sri Manohar Prabhu coordinated the team. Citizens Dr. Gayathri Bhat, P Ganesh Prabhu are some who took part.  A few pictures figure here.


Navabharath Circle – Team Prerana took up the drive in Navabharath circle; adjoining areas. Sri K  C Prabhu Dr. Prabhakar Rao flagged off the drive. Sri Sadananda Upadhyaya guided the team in cleaning the roads, footpaths and the adjoining drains. Sri Sadananda Melanta, Sri Gopalakrishna Udupa, Smt. Jayshree Aravind; several others participated in the drive.

Car Street – The devotees of Sri Gokarna Mutt carried out the drive in Bhavanthi Street area. Sri Basti Purushottam Shenoy flagged off the drive. Sri Satyanarayana Baliga, Sri Kamalaksha Pai, Sri  Damodar Bhat, several others participated in the drive. Sri Naresh Kini coordinated the team.

We have been successful in reaching the target but only some percentage of people are still acting blind and deaf in keeping the surrounding s clean

If every individual comes up with this thinking there is no need of such an ambience to be created in the city. The Manngaudda area is one ofthe best and the top are in Manglauru
