Suspension order of Udupi SI Anantha Padmanabha revoked ; transferred to DCIB

Udupi , Nov 22, 2019:   The suspension order of Udupi Town Police Station Sub-Inspector Anantha Padmanabha has been revoked. He has now been transferred to Udupi DCIB.

 

It may be recalled here that Udupi SP Nisha James had suspended Anantha Padmanabha and a constable of the Udupi Town Police Station on the charges of dereliction of duty in connection with the  November 2 Bhujanga Park incident wherein  a group assaulted three  young men who were engaged in a conversation with a female friend.

The suspension of the SI had  kicked off a controversy with Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, former MLA Pramod Madhwaraj and others taking strong objection. The SP had later referred the issue to Western Range IGP who has now revoked the suspension and transferred the SI.
