Suratkal: Bus crashes into shop causing injuries to travellers

Mangaluru, Apr 10, 2015: It is reliably reported a bus from Udupi to Mangaluru hit three other vehicles and then crashed into a paint shop after the movement of vehicles came to a halt near Honnakatte junction in Surathkal on April 9, passengers escaped with minor injuries.

According to Traffic police, a traffic policeman at the junction signalled vehicles to stop for the convoy of DK District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai was sighted. The particular bus driver had difficulty in stopping the vehicle because of a mechanical problem and the bus swerved to the right.

The bus hit a car going towards Udupi and then a parked scooter before hitting a paint shop. A few passengers in the bus had simple injuries and they were treated at a private hospital. A case has been registered against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving.
