Support Modi to safeguard interests of areca growers, says CAMPCO Chief

Mangalore, Apr 15, 2014: Konkodi Padmanabha, President of CAMPCO has urged the areca growers to cast their votes to a suitable candidate in order to help make Narendra Modi the prime minister of India and also to safeguard the interests of the growers.

Speaking to the media here on April 15, Tuesday, he said the Union Government has not been responsible enough in handling the issue arising out of the arecanut ban proposal. Moreover it has also not appointed an advocate to fight the case on behalf of the growers. The government has also not taken steps to withdraw the affidavit that areca is harmful, he said.Despite this being the fact, some leaders of the ruling party were unnecessarily blaming the CAMPCO and MAMCOS Konkodi Padmanabha pointed out.

He once again requested the areca growers to think before exercising their franchise in the upcoming elections.

Narasimha Nayak, Shimoga MAMCOS Vice President, K Satishchandra Bhandari, Vice President of CAMPCO and others were present.
