Sullia, Nov 24, 2015 :  Two students of the  Shree Subrahmanyeshwara Pre-University College in the temple town of Subrahmanya  have met a watery grave in the Kumaradhara river. The bodies of the two students who were missing since November 23, Monday were retrieved on November 24, Tuesday.

The deceased are  Jithesh, son of Ayyappa Gowda of Kukradka in Guttigaru and  Stephen Raj, son of Ramamurthy of Enekallu, both 17 years old and II PUC students.

Sources revealed that a total of five students of the college had gone for a swim. However, when two  of them reportedly drowned, the three others who were panicky returned home without and did not bother to inform anyone about the incident.

 Meanwhile, the families of the two boys began a frantic search and missing complaints were also lodged in Subrahmanya police station.  Some Ayyappa devotees who were taking  bath  nearby  saw the school bags and footwear on the banks and  brought the same to the notice of the locals.

When attempts by locals to retrieve the bodies went in vain  on Monday night, the  fire brigade in Sullia was informed and the bodies finally retrieved by Tuesday noon.

Without the guidelines of the elders never venture into the water. We are unaware nature of water. They might be unexpected whirlpool which pulled the boys . We cannot fight with nature. RIP

The others student who went along with them why didn’t they inform the family of those boys. Might be they feared to inform but what they had done is not right.

How sad? Recently so many youths have drowned in the District but still the youngsters take risk and drown. The family is the one who suffer.
