Sudheer Kumar Reddy transferred; Ravikanthe Gowda to be new SP

Mangaluru, Jan 20, 2018: Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy has been transferred to Belagavi. He will be replaced by B R Ravikanthe Gowda who is presently serving as SP of Belagavi. The transfer orders were issued by the state government on Saturday.

Sudheer Kumar Reddy had assumed office as SP of the district in June last year. Ravikanthe Gowda who will be taking charge as the new SP of the district hails from Mandya. He is considered as an upright officer who can tackle communal and underworld elements with an iron hand. He is also known as an encounter specialist ever since he encountered three rowdies while serving as DCP of Bengaluru.

He is also a passionate singer and poet and has a doctorate in literature. He is the son of writer Besagarahalli Ramanna.
