Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2016: Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo flagged off the Green City Walkathon, a part of ’World Green building Week 2016’ observed all over the world, the students and staff of the Beary Institute of Technology Mangaluru in association with MCC, Mangaluru City Corporation  under the aegis of Indian Green Building Council students chapter, organized ‘Clean City-Green City Walkathon 2016’ here on Sept 25, Sunday.

Mangaluru City Corporation mayor Harinath who was part of the effort on this occasion, he appreciated the initiative taken by the organizers and also complimented their concern to keep Mangaluru city clean and green.

Dr SK Raikar senior advisor, Dr Abdul Kareem principal, Prof Mustafa Basthikodi HOD of CSE, DR Aziz Mustafa principal of BIT Polytechnic and others were present.

Prof Mustafa Basthikodi welcomed. Dr Abdul Kareem addressed the gathering and Prof Abdul Jabbar delivered vote of thanks.

At least 1,200 students joined the walkathon from Nehru Maidan to Mangala Stadium via RTO road, Hampankatta, KS Raod, PVS Circle, MG Road, Lalbagh and Lady Hill, the effort is sen to have made a good impact in the city.
