A number of students from various colleges took part in the protest, and students of Government Women’s First Grade College, Ambedkar Circle, Balmatta Road also participated.
Reports from students stated, on July 25 morning when the students arrived for classes the principal of the college PP Joseph told the students who participated in the protest not to attend classes. Also students who arrived late in the college after the protest, on July 24 were also refused admissions for the lectures and the lecturers were advised not to allow them in, it is learnt.
SFI district president Nitin Kumar confirms the principal has been refusing entry of the students in the college. He added when he tried to contact the principal, he was not available.
