Akanksh Shetty Kuthar has been wearing the helmet in the city. The tiger’s face resembles the one worn by ‘Huliveshadharis’ in the coastal district.

He said, “My grandfather was a Huliveshadhari. I wished to have a helmet on the model of those worn by Huliveshadharis.”

He expressed his desire with artist friend Umesh Boliyar, who paints Huliveshadharis’ headgears. Umesh, in turn, converted a helmet on the model of a tiger’s head. All that is found on the face of a tiger was added on this helmet.

On the roads :  When Akanksh rides his two-wheeler wearing this new headgear, many amused persons have stopped him and enquired about it as well.

He said, “My grandfather was known as Pili Babanna. I have seen him in the dress of tiger dance. I was keen interest in Hulivesha or Pilivesha from the beginning. I had asked my friend to put a sticker of tiger on to my helmet. On the other hand, my friend has converted the helmet into a tiger’s head.”

Many wear helmets which they like. “I have tried to showcase Tulunadu art form in my helmet,” he said.  So, don’t be distracted when on the road...the huli may attack!
