Stating that a delegation of DK Youth Congress leaders had visited Delhi and had discussed crucial issues related to railways, road transport, and airway development issues with respective union ministers, he said that the delegation had spoken about the need to construct a NIFT College in Udupi, to extend the old port, to construct a modern fishing port in Kulai, and many more. However, the state government needs to communicate with the central government regarding many of these issues, he added.

Criticizing MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, he said that the MP should concentrate on the railway needs of DK, rather than fighting for the provision of railway facilities for Karwar. Pointing out the fact that Kannur has two trains while DK has none, he said that DK needs better inter-connectivity with trains between Mangalore and Chitradurga, Mangalore and Bangalore, and many more.
