Mangaluru,Dec 12,2014 : Visitors can relish delicacies of coastal belt for 3 days Stage is all set for the inauguration of three-day ’Vishwa Tuluvere Parba 2014,’ organised by Akhila Bharatha Tulu Okkuta and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy at Sahyadri College premises in Adyar, from Friday.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Vishwa Tuluvere Parba Chief Convenor Kadri Navaneet Shetty said that untimely rain has not affected the preparations. Celebrations will begin with the inauguration of Sahyadri Tuluvere Isiri, an inter-collegiate cultural competition at 10 am. Three stages have been erected for the simultaneous programmes.
Book exhibition will be inaugurated at 3 pm, ‘kadapuda ota’ (boating) at 3.30 pm, ‘atil aragane’ (cookery) at 4 pm, exhibition of traditional artifacts at 4 pm and photo exhibition will be inaugurated at 4.15 pm.
In ‘atil aragane’, there will be separate section for vegetarian and non-vegetarians food. The visitors can relish the mouth watering special delicacies of the Coastal belt.
On December 13, Bhoothanatheshwara Kreedothsava will be held at 10 am. All preparations have been made under the direction of Vijaynath Vittal Shetty. Tulunada Kabaddi will be inaugurated at 3 pm and painting competition will be inaugurated at 1.30 pm, he said.
‘Professional teams painted with natural colours will attract onlookers with ‘pili gobbu’ (tiger dance). Unique games like cycle balance which have special bond with Tulu culture, ‘kodi- adi’, ‘santheda kala’, ‘bale telipale’, ‘gaanada kotya’, ‘paddhana mela’ and various folk arts will be presented during the event. Along with this, Yakshagana, music, dance, demonstrations, sessions on relevant issues will be a part of the event.
‘Tuluvere tutthaita’ would bring more meaning to the programme by providing an insight into the dressing style and culture of different communities of Tulunadu, especially during festivals.
Along with teams from outside, teams sponsored by Tulu, Konkani and Beary Sahitya Academy will present cultural programmes. ‘Right Left Bokka Bookkonji’ Tulu movie will also be shot during the event. Free meals will be provided from 12 noon to 2 pm. The education department has agreed to provide OOD facilities to teachers who will participate in the programme.
Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President M Janaki Brahmavara said that the Academy has conducted Tulu Minadina programmes in various places of the district as a part of the event. The Academy will sponsor the photo exhibition. The best photos exhibited will be used in the Tulu Bhavana.
Vishwa Tuluvere Parba President Dharmapala U Devadiga has promised that the programme would provide a forum for the discussion on saving river Natravathi.
Kadri Navaneet Shetty also said the organising committee would definitely include issue over Netravathi in the memorandum which will be submitted to the Chief Minister during the valedictory. The issue on ban on Kambala will also be given prominence.
A painting and drawing workshop will be held during Vishwa Tulu Sammelana on December 13 at 2 pm. The workshop is organised by Jagath Art Gallery in memory of artist Jagadish Ammunje.
About 30 young artists from Mahalasa Art School and artist N S Pattar will paint on the subject ‘Shackles of rural Tulunadu.’
As a part of festivities, Surathkal Buntara Sangha will present ‘Tulunandda Porluthiril’ to highlight the rich cultural legacy of the land. The programme has been directed by Mohan Koppal and Naveen Shetty Alake.
It will highlight on ‘Parashurama srushti,’ ‘nagaradhane,’ life style, agriculture activities, Tulunada seemantha, Yakshagana, Daivaradhane, Tulunadu heroes, and the activities of fishermen, toddy tappers, pot makers, and others. The cultural programme will also highlight on the Guthinamane, Balindra pooje, Gaupooje, Keddasa and other celebrations. Around 102 artistes will be part of the programme.
