St Aloysius College Mangalore AIMIT Organizes Manasa Manthana 2009

Manasa Manthana 2009, a national-level paper presentation competition on “Recession Path Ahead,” was organized by the MBA faculty of AIMIT, St Aloysius College Mangalore on October 16, Friday, at 9 a.m.

The inauguration programme commenced with the presentation of the history of Manasa Manthana in AIMIT. Dean of AIMIT Dr. Sridhar welcomed the gathering. Smitha Achar, the faculty coordinator of the event gave the gathering a brief overview of Manasa Manthana 2009. Dr. Mallikarjunappa, the chief guest of the function, inaugurated the event. Fr. Denzil Lobo, the director of AIMIT, explained the meaning of the term “Manasa Manthana.” Fr. Leo D’Souza gave the presidential address. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Deepak Sajjan, the student coordinator of the event. 

Papers on finance, marketing, and human resources were presented after the inauguration programme. Eighteen papers were chosen for the presentation. 

The valedictory programme of Manasa Manthana 2009 was graced by the presence of Fr. Denzil Lobo, director of AIMIT; Fr. Swebert D’Silva, the principal of St. Aloysius College; Dr. Sridhar, the dean of AIMIT; Ms Smitha Achar, the faculty coordinator of the event. 

The names of the winners of the Manasa Manthana 2009 were announced. Mr. Bharat P of A. J. Institute of Management bagged the award for best finance paper, “Micro Finance: Role of Self-help Groups in Capital Formation.” Ms Aparna Kamath, Institute of Management and Educational Research bagged the award for best human resources paper “Impact of Recession on Training and Development.” The award for best marketing paper was grabbed by Ameet Chate of Karnataka Law Societies Institute of Management Educational Research for the paper “Retailing - Change in Formats” and Guru Darshan of Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) for the paper “Indian Rural Markets: Issues and Challenges for Corporates.” 

Ameet Chate of Karnataka Law Societies Institute of Management Educational Research received the overall best paper award.
