Mangaluru, Apr 26, 2019: Federation of Dakshina Kannada Muslim organisations President K Ashraf said that the residents of Dakshina Kannada and the members of various non-government organisations are ready to help the Sri Lankans and the Government of Sri Lanka in all possible ways.
He was addressing the gathering during a condolence meeting organised by the federation to condemn the recent serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka, near the DC’s office on April 25, Thursday.
Ashraf, also a former mayor, sought strict action against such “acts of cowardice”. “People should stand by each other in such times of despair,” he stressed and urged the government to take precautionary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur.
Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind President Mohammed Kunhi said that the terror attack is an act against humanity and capital punishment should be awarded to the perpetrators.
He said that the terror attacks, such as the one that took place in New Zealand mosque shooting and the Sri Lanka attacks, question the existence of humanity.
A fifteen-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the 359 who died in the terror attack.
