Spirit of India Run gets warm reception in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 4, 2016:  The Spirit of India Run aimed at raising funds for education of the girl child and to strengthen Indo-Australian ties arrived in Mangaluru via Talapady on February 4, Thursday.

This Kanyakumari to Kashmir Run is being undertaken by Patrick Farmer, an ultra-marathon athlete from Australia and a former Australian Parliament Member. A.B. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sharanappa, SP and others welcomed Patrick and his  team members by presenting them with bouquets.

Speaking to the media men present at Talapady when the Spirit of India Run reached there, Patrick described India as a glorious and unique nation with its diverse   culture and tradition. Appreciating the good support extended by people of India to the Spirit of India Run, he said the  education of the girl child will go a long way in the progress and prosperity of the nation.

Patrick and his team intends to cover a distance of 4600 kms throughout the length and breadth of the  country.
