Kundapur, Sep 13, 2015 : People travelling in a car towards Dharmasthala from Murdeshwar had a miraculous escape when a speeding sand laden truck collided head on with their vehicle on NH 66 at Trasi on September 12, Saturday. Though the Tata Indica car was severely damaged, those inside it escaped unhurt.
The passengers in the car were on way to Dharmasthala via Udupi after visiting Murdeshwar when the mishap took place. The truck belonged to IMB Roadlines. It is learnt the driver of the truck lost control over the vehicle resulting in the mishap. The impact of the collision was such that both vehicles overturned.
The sand truck was on way to Bhatkal from Kundapur. Some sources said the sand was being transported unauthorisedly.
