Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2014 : Based on a complaint lodged by a person from Kudumbur in Baikampady, the Panambur police have registered a case against a young woman and her mother for abetment to suicide of his son.
As per the complaint lodged by Michael D’Souza, the family of the young woman was responsible for the alleged suicide of his son Anand D’Souza a few days ago.
According to Michael, his son Anand who had left to Saudi Arabia on a job assignment in 2011 came into contact with a young woman from Jalligudde in Mangaluru over cell phone and both had an affair for three years. It is learnt, Anand heeding to the girl’s request and realizing that they were not well-off had provided them large sums of money to buy vehicles including a scooter, bike and autorickshaw. It is learnt the amount thus handed over to the girl’s family by Anand went upto Rs 20 lakh. Michael said when his son had returned hometown in September, the girl’s family took him along and took possession of everything he had brought from Saudi Arabia. He said the girl then told his son that he was like a brother to her and refused to marry her.
Michael’s complaint said his son Anand who narrated the happening to his family and regretted over his failure for not being able to take good care of them, had later ended his life by hanging.
Panambur police are investigating the case.
