Mangaluru, Nov 30, 2017: The proposal to build a new bus terminus on a 7.23 acre land at Pumpwell under the Smart City Project has got the green signal from the Smart City Special Purpose Vehicle at its meeting held on November 29, Wednesday at Bengaluru.
Earlier on Tuesday, the MCC council meet under the chairmanship of Mayor Kavitha Sanil had approved the project to be taken up under Public-Private partnership.
Now, with the SPV meet too giving a go ahead , the tender for the project is expected to be called soon.
The SPV meeting also decided to conduct a comprehensive survey of all properties in Mangaluru to gather details of property records and to ensure effective collection of property tax. It was further decided to take up the construction of a Smart Road Project from near RTO office till Clock Tower.
The meeting was attended by District in-charge Secretary Hemalatha, KUDCEMP Managing Director A B Ibrahim, DK Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Mangaluru Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Chief Whip Shashidhar Hegde, MCC Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer, Corporators Premanand Shetty and Lancelot Pinto.
