Shriramulu’s party to hold mega 8-day yatra to connect with people

Mangalore, July 17, 2012 : Addressing a press conference at Press Club on July 17, Tuesday, Rakshitha Prem, Sandalwood producer and actress, said that Shriramulu, the founder of the Swabhimani BSR Congress, will hold a Sankalpa Yatra from Karwar to Ramnagar from July 29 to August 5 with the intention of building a strong Karnataka.

 

 

The actress also said that the party will organize a massive convention in Town Hall, Mangalore on Aug 2, Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. Similar conventions will be held in major districts throughout the 8-day yatra, which will cover 1,300kms across coastal Karnataka. Throughout the yatra, party workers will provide solutions to people’s problems and will communicate people’s problems to the government, she added.

The yatra will begin in Karwar at 11:30 a.m. on July 29 and will proceed to Sirsi through Kumta. On July 30, it will proceed to Sorba and Sagar through Shimoga and will organize a convention in this district. On July 31, the party will hold a convention in Hassan and Chikmagalur. On Aug 1, they will hold a convention in Udupi in the evening. On Aug 2, the yatra will reach Mangalore, organize a convention in Town Hall, and leave for Sullia that evening.

On Aug 3, the party will hold a convention in Madikeri at 11:00 a.m., and on Aug 4, it will hold a convention in Mysore at 11:00 a.m. Similar conventions will be held in Chamaraj Nagar, Mandya, and Ramnagar on Aug 5.

Speaking on the occasion, Girish Rai, party member, said that Shriramulu has worked for the poor and the underprivileged and has built a party for their welfare. He has walked 900kms in 54 days for the welfare of the public, he added.

Organizer Praveen Peter said that only regional parties can survive in the forthcoming elections, owing to which the party plans to nominate 224 candidates.
