Mangaluru, Aug 4, 2015 : Speaking to media August 3, District in-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai said there was a need to develop Shishila-Bhyrapura road. He had spoken to the public works department (PWD) minister on developing the road, which passes through forest land. The forest department will give its consent to the public works department to carry out the work, he added.
On issue of attack on Sundara Malekudiya in Belthangady, he said that stern action would be taken against the assailants. The State continues to stand by the weaker section of the society, he said.
Responding to a query, Rai said that the water woes in Mangaluru had intensified as the new dam at Thumbay was still incomplete.
The work has been accelerated. The water woes will end with the completion of the new dam, he added. Mangaluru Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred said that work on the repair of the old Kudcemp water supply line was in progress for the last two days.Former mayor Shashidhar Hegde said that water supply would be restored soon.
