Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2017: Nammavaru, an organisation of families from Mysuru region, will recreate the scene of Udupi Krishna Mutt as part of the Dasara Gombe Pradarshana (Dasara Dolls presentation) that begins here on Sept 21,Thursday. It will continue till September 30.
The organisation has been holding ’Dasara Gombe Pradarshana’, a popular ritual in many families in South Karnataka, for several years now. This event is among the programmes of the South Karnataka-based families.
The Dasara Gombe Pradarshana will be held on the Sharavu Mahaganapati temple premises. The dolls, including Asta Lakshmi, Dashavatara, Kalingamardhana, Pattada Raja, Pattada Rani, Vishwaroopa, Srinivasa Kalyanotsava, Garuda, Anjaneya and Anantashana, will be displayed. There will also be dolls portraying agriculture, Mysuru Palace, Jambu Savari and the Mysuru Dasara procession.
The Udupi Krishna Mutt area will be recreated. Apart from Udupi Krishna Temple, the Madhwa Sarovara, Kanaka Gopura, Kanakana Kindi, Kattige Ratha and Ratha Beedi will be shown in the form of dolls. The theme of Udupi Mutt has been taken up to commemorate the fifth Paryaya of Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swami.
The Dasara Gombe Pradarshana will be open between 4.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. September 21 to 30.
