Setback for PM Modi despite Gujarat victory : MLA Bava

Mangaluru, Dec 18, 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suffered a setback despite the BJP coming to power in Gujarat, said Mangaluru North MLA Moidin Bava.

Speaking to reporters here on December 18, Monday, he said the BJP had secured less seats this time compared to last elections despite the hectic campaigning by PM Modi who held several rallies. The election result has made the nation turn its attention towards the new Congress leadership under the hands of a young leader, Bava said.

He said the Congress government in the state under the leadership of Siddaramaiah has fulfilled 159 out of the 165 assurances that it had given to the people prior to the earlier elections. He also stated that he has succeeded in securing maximum grants for the development of his constituency during his tenure.
