Puttur, Oct 9,2017: Puttur town police have arrested a man suspected of three thefts, cheating cases and seized gold jewelry worth Rs 1.70 lakh on Oct 8, Sunday.
The person has been identified as Suresh Naik (51), a resident of Marathimoole located at Kanyana village in Bantwal taluk. The accused reportedly took away valuables from Puttur and Uppinangady bus stands in three separate incidents.
The accused’s modus operandi used was target aged couples to steal, rob the valuables gaining their trust.
The search operation was led by superintendent of police Sudheer Kumar, DYSP Srinivas, circle inspector Mahesh Prasad and others.
