Seminar on qualitative education held for headmasters

Mangalore, August 27, 2011 : The district administration, the Zilla Panchayat (ZP), the public education department, and the Ramakrishna Mutt jointly organized a seminar for headmasters titled “Creative Administration for Qualitative Education” and Prathibha Puraskar at Ramakrishna Mutt on Aug 27, Saturday.

Vidhan Parishad Speaker D. H. Shankar Murthy inaugurated the event and said that it is the need of the hour to discuss teachers’ problems.

Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, the minister for primary and secondary education, released a souvenir titled “Yashassinattha Hejje.” Stating that the Government of Karnataka has done a lot in the field of education, he urged children to pursue higher education in foreign countries, get employment there, and earn more. He also said that the youth should opt for higher education not to compete with others, but to hone their skills.

Regarding results, he said that only 8 of the 155 government high schools have achieved cent percent results. Only 2 of the 107 aided schools have 100 percent results and around 57 of the 421 non aided schools have scored 100 percent results. He urged teachers to encourage students and train them well so that all the schools can get a good score.

Shri Jithakamananda Swamiji, the president of Ramakrishna Mutt, and Shri Nirbhayananda Sarawsathi Swamji of Gadag in Bijapur were felicitated on the occasion. Puttur Pramod N. V. and Bhargavi C. S. were rewarded for their academic achievements.

The prizes were given away by N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker, and Sushilchand, the managing director of MRPL.

A number of prominent citizens such as MLA U. T. Khader were also present.
