Bengaluru, Sept 15, 2020: Widening the net to dig deep into the alleged Sandalwood drugs case, the Central Crime Bureau of the Bengaluru City police has summoned noted Kannada star couple Aindrita Ray and Diganth Manchale to appear before them in their office here Wednesday.
The actor-couple has delivered multiple hits in the Kannada movie industry. They are a very well known couple on the party circuit as well in the city.
Soon the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru began its own investigations, an FIR was registered based on information gathered by ACP Gautam of the CCB. Two actors from Sandalwood Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjana Galrani were taken into custody by the cops while investigating the case.
Apart from the two actors, several others have been taken into custody, who cops claim either organised parties where drugs were heavy used or involved in the business of drug peddling itself. Some of them have links to the actors who were arrested.
Son of former late minister Jeevraj Alva who also is the brother in law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has also been named as an accused in one of the FIRs. A property named "House of Life" that hosted several events/parties in Bengaluru was searched by the CCB sleuths earlier today. The manager has been taken in for questioning.
In the latest development, the crime branch has summoned two more actors for questioning in the case. Sandalwood star couple Diganth Manchale and his wife Aindrita Ray have been asked to appear at 11 am at the central crime branch tomorrow.
"We have received a telephonic notice from the Central Crime Branch for an ongoing enquiry at 11 am tomorrow. We will be present and fully cooperate with the CCB," tweeted Aindrita ray.
