Mangalore, October 12: ‘ Samskruthi ’10 ’ the annual state level intercollegiate fest of SDM Law College was held in the city on October 9.

The one day fest was organized as a representation of the dedication to the cultural ethos of Dharmastala, and its Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade.


The Students from 9 colleges have participated in this fest. The day long events included Mock Press, Best Advocate, Marketing, Elevator Pitch, Statesman, Quiz, Cooking, Documentary Appraisal, Creative Writing, Street Play, Face Painting and Dance.


The inaugural programme was headed by Devdas Kapikad, a well-known Tulu drama artiste and Mr. Swarun Raj, the MD of Raj Constructions. The principal of the college, Dr. B.K Ravindra and student council president Preethika Pilinja were also present on the dais. Devdas Kapikad urged the students to actively take part in extra-curriculars as it helps them develop themselves.


Speaking on the occasion the principal of SDM Law Dr. BK Ravindra said that the students have always been in the forefront and have taken the charge of organizing this fest. “Conducting this fest every year is something we look forward to. The team which works behind the success of Samskruthi is very committed, enthusiastic and determined. The only thing we worry about is how our life’s would get back to routine once Samskruthi is over! I already cannot wait for the Samskruthi next year" says Kirti Mohan, a student co-ordinator of Samskruthi. “I’m very happy for having attended this fest and am really excited on having won the quiz competition” said Jennifer D’Souza, a student of St. Agnes College.


The prize distribution ceremony was headed by Mr. Suresh Ballal. SDM College of Business Management were the overall winners and Poorna Prajna College, Udupi were the runners-up. Later a fireworks show was organized in the college grounds.
