Mangalore Today News Network

dvs gowdaUdupi, June 29: The state government, which is yet to recover from the shock of the Lokayukta’s resignation, received yet another blow when D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the former president of the state unit of BJP and MP, resigned as the director of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). He confirmed that he had sent the resignation letter to Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa, State Unit President K. S. Eshwarappa, and KMF Chairman G. Somashekar Reddy on June 26, Saturday.

Expressing disappointment at the way he was treated after completing his term as the chief of the state unit of BJP, Mr. Gowda said that he was promised that he would be appointed as the chairman of the KMF when he was appointed as one of its directors, but so far the government has not kept its promises. A visibly upset Mr. Gowda said that he “was no longer interested in continuing with the post.”

Discontentment is running high in the BJP government, especially after the resignation of its strongman although Mr. Gowda has clarified that he does not wish to cause any embarrassment to the government and that he would continue as the MP. He also clarified that his resignation is not intended to blackmail the government and that he was “just disappointed” at the failure of the party to keep its promises. He had already given the party a piece of his mind, he said.

CM B. S. Yeddyurappa said that he had not received any letter from Mr. Gowda and that he is not aware of his resignation. BJP leader Mr. Eshwarappa said that the issue will surely be resolved through discussions.
