Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh Poduval,  leader of the Samithi said the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan can very well be dubbed as the Tipu Sultan of Kerala considering the fact that his government has been hurting Hindu sentiments by  committing atrocities on Ayyappa devotees.

He also accused the government of misusing the police department.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty who addressed the protestors, said  the police personnel on duty at the shrine were not following the temple tradition which necessitates them to wear black shawl. They are also not supposed to wear shoes and belt, he said.

Jagadish Shenava, District President of VHP, Sharan Pumpwell and others participated in the protest.
