Bengaluru, May 16, 2016 : Udupi district has bagged the second position, while Dakshina Kannada district stood third in the state with a pass percentage of 89.53 and 88.01 respectively in the results of the SSLC examinations conducted in March-April 2016 which were announced on May 16, Monday.
Bengaluru Rural with a pass percentage of 89.63 stood first while the last position went to Ballari district with 56.68 pass percentage.
As always girls have gained an upperhand with a pass percentage of 82.64 while the pass percentage of boys is 75.84.
The results were announced by State Education Minister Kimmane Ratnaker in the capital on Monday. For the first time in the history of the state, S. Ranjan, a student of Poornaprajna School of Bhadravathi has topped the state by scoring cent per cent marks in all subjects. Supreetha of Holy Child School, Banashankari scored 624 out of 625 to stand second.
Over 8.49 lakh students had appeared for the exams this year.
