SSLC Exams Begin Amidst Tight Precautions against Malpractice

Mangalore, April 1: The SSLC annual examinations began all over the state amid tight precautionary measures against malpractice. About8.35 lakh students are appearing for the exams all over the state at in 2,895 examination centres.

In Dakhshina kannada distrcit, a district-level committee has been assigned under the deputy commissioner, assistant Ccommisioner, ZP president and police to ensure that the examinations go on smoothly and to prevent malpractice. For every examination centre there will be a model officer who will modulate the exam. All the spare question papers will be sealed within the first hour of the exam to avoid those papers being leaked. Photocopying centres around the centres will be closed half an hour prior to the exam and will stay closed for the duration of the exam.


Invigilators and non staff personnel will be issued identity cards. No mobiles will be allowed inside the exam hall. The examination centres will be monitored using video surveillance equipment.


 

 

 

 

 

 


The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), which conducts the SSLC examination, has identified 478 examination centres as sensitive.


Adequate security measures have been taken to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. Several teams headed by the district collectors have been constituted to monitor the examination centres.


The scheduled instructions to the districts head for the supervision and monitoring of examination centres has been already issued by the KSEEB.


Of the total candidates appearing for SSLC examination, 4.47 lakh are boys and 3.88 lakh are girls. As many as 245 are visually impaired, 480 hearing and speech impaired and 1,634 differently abled and 261 dyslexic students will appear for the examination.


The government had also recently announced a 15-minute breather for SSLC students to review the question paper. Dyslexic students will be provided extra time and can also make use of a scribe during the examination.



Udupi: The stage is set for the SSLC examinations to be held in Udupi district from April 1 to 13.


According to information provided by the office of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction here on Thursday, 17,723 candidates — 9,163 boys and 8,560 girls — would be appearing for the examinations. Of the 15,744 regular students appearing for the examination, 7,769 are boys and 7,975 are girls.

There are 58 examination centres in the district. They include 17 in Udupi block, 13 in Brahmavar block, 11 in Karkala block, nine in Kundapur block and eight in Byndoor block.


To prevent any malpractice in the examinations, three squads have been formed at the district level.
