Belthangady, Dec 11, 2014: Dr Sharanappa, DK District Superintendent of Police has warned of invoking Goonda Act against those whose names figure in cases of repeated offences.
Speaking to reporters at the Belthangady Police Station on December 10, Wednesday, Dr Sharanappa warned of the sternest possible action against those spreading false rumours through social networking sites or other modes just to disturb peace and tranquillity.
He further stated that the Police Department would deal with an iron hand against those taking law into their hands.
On the recent case of alleged attack on cattle traffickers at Belalu in Belthangady, the SP said just as cattle trafficking is an offence, attacking the accused by taking law into hands is also equally an offence. The SP said probe is underway into the case of stoning of Kanyadi mosque.
