SOP announced for daily travel between Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod districts

Mangaluru, June 3, 2020: In order to facilitate  inter-state travel of daily commuters between Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, the district administration has issued certain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

As per the decision, daily passes will be issued only to working professionals and students who have to commute between the two districts on a daily basis. Such people have to register on "https://bit.ly/dkdpermit"  to avail daily passes.

The applications will have to mention the origin and destination locations, work address in Dakshina Kannada of the person from Kasargod. Aadhar Card, proof of work place also need to be uploaded. The pass valid till June 30 will be issued by the AC of Mangaluru Division upon verification of the application.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh said all those entering Dakshina Kannada from Kasargod will be subject to thermal screening at the checkpost and only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed.   The pass details will be  recorded at Talapady checkpost and the person who entered Dakshina Kannada from Kasargod and who  fails to report  during exit from the district will be subject to quarantine and also face action as per the Epidemic Act.

On the other hand those from Dakshina Kannada district who wish to travel to Kasargod will have to register in the Covid-19 Jagritha portal of Kasargod. The applicant has to register under emergency category and also mention the reason for travel.
