SDPI demands immediate arrest of Ashraf killers

Mangaluru, June 22,2017 : Several SDPI leaders who  addressed a press meet   in the city on June 22, Thursday have strongly condemned the brutal murder of SDPI Ammunje  unit President Mohammad Ashraf at Benjanapadavu on  Wednesday.

The SDPI has demanded that those behind the murder must be immediately arrested and stern action taken against them. Another demand placed forth was to provide compensation from the government to the family of Ashraf who was an autorickshaw driver and a father of three kids.

Accusing the Sangh Parivar organisations of involving in disruptive activities in the district, the SDPI has also demanded that the RSS should be immediately banned.

Alleging that the Police Department and the District Administration had miserably failed in maintaining law and order in the district, the SDPI also demanded the resignation of DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai by owning moral responsibility for the same.

The SDPI leaders pointed out that the deceased Mohammad Ashraf was a man who greatly valued communal harmony and even used to   help a  disabled person named Sheena Poojary by  taking him in his autorickshaw to Ramanagar thrice a week.

Ilyas Mohammad Thumbay, National General Secretary of SDPI, Siddique Puttur, District Vice President, Iqbal Bellare, District Secretary and other office bearers were present.
