Rs 1.5 lakh stolen from Milagres Church office

Mangalore, July 24, 2014:   A cash of Rs 1.5 lakh has been stolen from the office of the Our Lady of Miracles Church at Milagres in the city on July 23, Wednesday night. The CCTV footages of the church has recorded the movements of the thief.

The theft is learnt to have occurred at around 10.20 pm. The thief had covered his face and had entered the Church office by breaking open window rods. He stole the cash kept in three cash boxes. It is guessed that he entered the church premises from the graveyard area.

 

The footage also showed him standing near the toilet for some time before committing the theft.

The church authorities came to know about the theft only on July 25, Thursday morning. A key left behind by the thief was found in the office.

Pandeshwar police are investigating the case. Finger print experts have also been pressed into service.
