Mangaluru, Feb 17, 2016: Students of Mangalore University boycotted classes and observed a bundh as part of a call given for a state wide University Bundh by progressive student organisations demanding the arrest of those responsible for the alleged suicide of Hyderabad Central University student Rohith Vemula.
Addressing the students at a protest meet held near the main entrance of the University, B.V.S. leader Raghu said it was nothing but a tragedy that a debate is underway regarding the caste of a student instead of tracking down those responsible for his suicide.
SFI District Secretary who also spoke said there have been protests even abroad with regard to this incident. Still it is a wonder why the government was not initiating any action, he observed.
Several student leaders spoke on the occasion. Harish, Mustafa, Limita, Sannappa and other University student leaders led the protest.
Yes, we have to take a stand and fight for justice. So many innocents lose life in various incidents but no action is taken .
The respect should always remain in our hearts and fight for the justice. You concentrate on your future there is the police and the court they be will see to it.
if the students are really doing this the for Rohit God Bless You. But this just for the sake to make public about his concern.
