Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2015 : The CCB Police led by Inspector Venkatesh Prasanna has achieved a breakthrough in the investigation into the recent case of robbery attempt during broad daylight at the Suratkal office of Muthoottu Mini Finance on December 5, with the arrest of three of the accused.
Those arrested are Harish (28) and Anil Kumar Y M alias Arhan (29) of Piriyapattana near Mysuru and Prasad (21) of Sakleshpur. Of the three, Anil had worked as a salesman of a consumer appliances firm in the city, while the other two did odd jobs. All the three were said to be friends.
Police have seized two knives and three air guns used by the trio apart from three cell phones, Maruti Omni, ropes, adhesive tapes etc all worth Rs 3.4 lakhs. Meanwhile, police are on the look out for two more accused in the case.
As already reputed, five unidentified men who had arrived at the Finance office on December 5 morning posing as customers first enquired about gold rates with the staff. Soon after one of them drew a pistol out of his pocket and demanded gold and cash. However, one of the female officers of the firm managed to activate the siren which forced the assailants to flee in a blue Omni van without any number plate.
Suratkal police had registered a case following a complaint by K Manohar Shetty of the Finance Firm.
