Ullal, Apr 03, 2015: The 423 rd annual Uroos of Ullal Sayyid Madani Darga was inaugurated by Ullal Khazi Asayyid Fazal Koyamma Tanjal Madani Al-Bukhari on April 2. The day also marked the beginning of the 20th five-yearly Uroos of the darga. The highlight of the occasion was   inauguration of the renovated darga.

Ullal Darga committee President U S Hamza said that a number of voluntary groups  with at least 2500 volunteers has been formed. Every team is assigned a specific responsibility; police department, fire service team, health department will extend their services. This Ullal uroos is set to witness the participation of people from various religions, he said 25 to 30 lakh people are expected in this season.

Karnataka Minister for Health and Family welfare U T Khader, who hails from Ullal, said lakhs of people including those from other countries will take part.  The Ullal darga has been acclaimed as the Ajmer of south and the tradition of peace and communal harmony has been the mark of the this holy shrine, he said.

The minister further said that a large number of youth are taking part in the event, with good spirit. Dignitaries including the Governor, the Chief Minister, MPs , Ministers and leaders from various fields will grace the functions of the uroos. The first stage work of the road development in Ullal has been complete and will be inaugurated this week.

UIlal Sayyid Madani Arabic College Professor Asayyid Aboobakkar Cherukunhi Tanjal, Central Jumma Masjid Khadib Abdul Ravoof Musliar and others were present.   Ulama scholars will deliver religious lectures followed by Magrib namaz on all days of uroos. Public are expected in large numbers.
